Eligible parents can handpick the right provider for their families with the most costs covered from our approved list. Whether it’s their education or childcare, we’re here to make sure that you can provide the life you want for them. 

What's the Catch?

RELATIVES CAN GET PAID TO PROVIDE CARE

A parent eligible to receive subsidized child care assistance may select a relative as their choice for child care provider when the following is met.   

Relative Providers listed with Child Care Regulation (CCR) is eligible for Child Care Services (CCS) reimbursement as long as the relative meets the following definition.

 

A relative child care provider is an individual who is at least 18 years of age, and is, by marriage, blood relationship or court decree, and of the following:

  • The child’s grandparent
  • The child’s great grandparent
  • The child’s aunt
  • The child’s uncle
  • The child’s sibling (if the sibling does not reside in the same household as the eligible child

CCR definition of Listed Family Home as the following:

  • Provides care and supervision for up to three unrelated children.
  • Provides care at least four hours a day, three or more days a week, for three or more consecutive weeks; or four hours a day for 40 or more days in a 12-month period.
  • Provides care in the primary caregiver's home.
  • Must meet minimum standards.
  • Is not routinely inspected unless a complaint is received regarding a possible violation of the minimum standards.
