YouthBuild El Paso Awarded Funding by DOL

Workforce Solutions Borderplex was notified by the Department of Labor that its application for the "YouthBuild El Paso!" initiative was selected for funding. El Paso was chosen out of hundreds of applications nationwide. This federal grant will inject $600,000 into the El Paso region, and through the support of its partners and in-kind support Workforce Solutions Borderplex will be able to provide additional resources for an overall budget of $900,000. 

The U.S. Department of Labor awarded a total of $80.3 million in YouthBuild grants this week to organizations across 35 states. YouthBuild is a community-based, alternative education program that trains and educates at-risk youth in workforce ready skills, ages 16-24. El Paso, Texas was one of 77 communities funded, and one of 24 newly created sites. For more information, please refer to the official U.S. Department of Labor news release.
