Texas Workforce Commission to Host Employment Law Update in Alpine

WHAT:                  Texas Workforce Commission will assist employers in following federal and state employment law.  The topics covered will include: Texas Employment Law and Hiring Legally, Federal and Texas Wage and Hour Law, Unemployment Claims and Appeals, Independent Contractors, Employee Policy Handbooks, Drug Testing, Workplace Privacy Issues, Background Checks and Social Media.

TWC’s Office of the Commissioner Representing Employers sponsors the Texas Business Conferences, a series of employer seminars held each year throughout the state.  Every employer is encouraged to attend at least one of these conferences every year, since the topics are updated whenever there are new laws, regulations or court cases. The cost of the conference is $125 (includes all materials).  Continuing Education Credit is available for CPAs, Attorneys, and HR Professionals (SHRM, MCLE & HCRI).
