El Paso, Texas – June 2, 2016: Workforce Solutions Borderplex (WSB), in conjunction with local employers and youth, will host El Paso’s first annual Reverse Job Fair.
The Reverse Job Fair is different from the traditional job fair model. “Borderplex Certified” youth set up booths to display their portfolios, skills and talents to employers who are looking to staff up this summer. Employers will have direct access to engage with and interview 80 youth who are ready for new summer work experiences and internship opportunities.
“This unique model really provides youth a forum for marketing their talents to employers. We are asking employers to participate this year, as we see this reverse approach as an opportunity for them to build their company values and benefits when they hire and mentor a young person,” said Joyce Wilson, CEO of Workforce Solutions Borderplex.
Employers can sponsor a youth at $625 for a 120-hour internship, $1225 for a 240-hour internship and $1625 for a 320-hour internship. Employers will also receive a 501(c) 3 organization contribution acknowledgement form. WSB will be the employer of record, covering worker’s compensation and fringe benefits and they will also issue bi-weekly pay-checks.
There is still time for employers to participate in the first annual Reverse Job Fair. For more information or to register to attend, please call (915) 887-2040 or email Jessica.firstname.lastname@example.org. The Reverse Job Fair will take place on Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at 9:00am at Region 19 Education Service Center located at 6611 Boeing Dr. El Paso, Texas 79925 and is open to all employers. Advance registration is encouraged to help us gauge employer interest.
